Profession to finish Prophecies?
Hi all. So, I was bored and got GW Prophecies because I heard it's the longest but somewhat the easiest campaign to finish. I want to finish it before GW2 comes out. Any ideas what class should I choose as a beginner? I have a Necromancer / Mesmer but I find it hard and annoying to keep minions alive... :s Thanks in advance!
Edit: I do NOT care about farming, I just wanna finish the game, lol.

Necromancers have other sides besides MM, which you might want to give a try. If it still doesnt work for you I'd advice giving every prof a small try in pvp.

Edit: Wow so I totally missed the first sentence in your post lol... *cough*
To answer your question; use any profession you like. If you like Necromancer, use that! You don't always have to be a minion master. My first play through was with an Elementalist. It's fun using the different elements.

I took a number of professions through Prophecies when the game was new. For a completely new character, Ranger! Start as R/Mo for the Rez and switch to R/whatever higher in the game.
However, before you do that try your Necromancer as a Blood or Curses Necromancer. I personally cannot stand trying to be a MM. The AI can run a MM hero so much better that I can and besides it is tedious to be mother henning a bunch of minions all the time. Whereas Blood and Curses have skills not only to damage targets, but also to keep you alive! N/Me is what I would pick as a caster these days in Prophecies only, so you have a good start already if you can make it work.

Every proffesion can complete the full storyline, so try some that you find cool and choose which suits you.
I found myself a rit after a half year of playing, so don't be afraid of giving it some time.
Also search forum and google. There's been many times before posted a similar thread.

Thanks all and sorry for the similar thread, I found many about farming builds, but I didn't take enough time to search, so yeah. I guess I'll stick with my Necro for now, I'm still not used to this build changing thing... In most MMOs you can only change your build with a reset item. XD I have to test more skills first. I might try ranger, I like archer type characters in games.

Necro would be my choice Its my main character and has completed all the games.
I used a mix of heroes henchies and players to complete prophesies without too many problems.
MM for much of the game because it works well enough and is dependable in most areas.
Spiteful spirit and even spirit spam as a necro/Ritualist just for a change or when I was feeling lazy.

to be honest you can complete the whole campaign over a weekend if you wanted to. each mission with bonus takes maybe 20 minutes to do.
and whatever profession you pick is purely up to you, i personally like healing so monk is my choice, but really anything from prophecies could be of use.
